About Us
We study why people with the same diagnosis differ, and what those differences mean for diagnosis and treatment.
Next-generation precision medicine rests on reading the languages of medicine, pharmacy, science, and data science together.
People with the same diagnosis may differ in why a disease began, how it progresses, and how it responds to treatment. Kyung Hee University’s Department of Precision Medicine asks where those differences come from and prepares researchers to carry what they learn into decisions in healthcare and the biohealth sector.
The official Graduate School directory lists three majors: Precision Medicine, AI for Healthcare and Medicine, and Precision Drug Discovery and Development. Depending on the question they pursue, students move across basic and applied medical and pharmaceutical research, bioinformatics and healthcare data, translational research and commercialization, nanomedicine, and convergent medical devices.
What students learn is meant to travel beyond the classroom and laboratory. They test a question through experiments and data, then consider how the result might inform diagnostics, treatment, medical devices, or industry. Graduates may continue in research and professional roles across healthcare, medicine, pharmacy, science, research institutions, and precision-medicine companies.

Precision medicine cannot be built with the methods of one field alone. Professor Kim leads the department so that medicine, pharmacy and artificial intelligence meet in a single research question. His laboratory studies fluorescent-probe diagnostics, silicon and nanoparticle drug delivery, and mitochondria-targeted therapeutics.
